Chivas Femenil added their second win to their start of the Apertura 2022 by defeating Necaxa 3-0 in the game on Matchday 2 played this Saturday at the Akron, with outstanding performances by Adriana Iturbide, who made her debut as the red and white striker, and Gabriela Valenzuela, who scored for the second consecutive match. The red and white team's next game will be away against San Luis.
Chivas started with a strong push to open the scoreboard as soon as possible, their first warning came from Adriana Iturbide, who had a chance to open the scoreboard at 11' with a filtered service, but her shot was rejected by goalkeeper Martínez. The Centellas responded at 15' with a header by Sahiry Cruz that went just wide of Celeste Espino's left post and at 17' with a shot from the halfway line that Celeste deflected over the top.
The Rebaño Femenil found the reward for their perseverance at 30', "Licha" won a ball midfield and sent a service into the box to "Boyi", who took advantage of the defense's hesitation to score in front of the goal. The red-and-white team had still another opportunity to increase the lead at 32' with a service from Rubí to Iturbide but the visiting defense managed to block with a sweep, and at 37' with a Gabriela Valenzuela shot that goalkeeper Martínez saved.
In the second half, the Rebaño Femenil maintained the intensity they had closed the first half with, "Caro" gave her first warning at 55' with a free kick that hit the crossbar, Gaby Valenzuela managed to extend the lead at 58' with a header from a corner kick taken by Jaramillo. Chivas made it a 3-0 lead at 65' when "Boyi" played a pass into space to Joseline Montoya, who drove into the box and scored with a left-footed shot to make it 3-0.
With a big lead on the scoreboard, the Guadalajara women's team controlled the tempo of the match, which allowed coach "Pato" Alfaro to move his scheme to give some on pitch time to his substitute players. With this result, the Campeona2 and Chingonas momentarily take the lead in the overall standings with 6 points.
