Is Tijuana really that complicated for Chivas?

05/09/2022 12:00 / Javier Quezada

We all know that there are some places that have historically been complicated for El Guadalajara and, more so now due to the busy calendar, these days two of them have come together: Toluca and Tijuana. In the first, Chivas came away with 1 point leaving many with the impression of having had the opportunity to have brought home all 3, but now time to reset and head for the border. How does this portend for the future? Stay with us and we will tell you how El Rebaño has reversed the trend in recent tournaments.

For starters, the recent statistics against Xolos are positive in all matches, as out of the 5 most recent encounters, the squad from Guadalajara has won 3 and drawn 2. As if that weren't enough, 3 of those duels took place in Baja Californian soil and Chivas has brought home points in all of them.

In addition, we cannot leave aside the current upward trend of our Chivas, who have gone 4 matches without defeat, with 3 wins and 1 draw; the draw was against los Diablos just last Sunday, when the Chiverío went into the Nemesio Diez with a lot of personality and despite deserving the win, a couple of refereeing controversies prevented them from winning the match.

Recent history between Chivas and Xolos:
Tournament / Matchday / Result

- Apertura 2021 / Round 14 / Tijuana 0-0 Guadalajara
- Clausura 2021 / Round 15 / Guadalajara 2-0 Tijuana
