The Rebaño U14 team achieved its goal of advancing to the category's Grand Final by defeating Tijuana 1-0 this Saturday at the Xoloitzcuintles Initiation Center, and now the red and white team will be playing for the title for the very first time in this category against Pumas, who knocked out Monterrey in a penalty kick shootout.
Rodolfo Jáuregui's men came out determined to win against a rival that sought to take home field advantage by playing on a synthetic pitch, although the defensive work carried out by the red and white team during the 90' was fundamental in achieving the victory. The first half was one of alternating dominance, but Chivas took advantage of an opportunity to take the lead. In the second half, they controlled the match and sealed their ticket to the Grand Final.
The goal:
35' Deibith Armenta took advantage of a filtered pass, drove the ball down the right side, eluded a rival and with a right-footed cross scored the goal that symbolizes the pass to the Final.
RED AND WHITE DATA:
- This will be Guadalajara's first Final in the second tournament of this category.
- Chivas has played the Liguilla as a visitor, eliminating Necaxa in the quarterfinals and now Xolos.
- The red-and-white team qualified in third place in Group 2 and in the general table with 29 points, while Tijuana was first place in Sector 2 with 32 points.
- The Final will be played on a reciprocal visit, the first leg in Guadalajara and the return leg in the Red and White Capital.
