With flashes of good soccer, Chivas outplayed Mazatlán in the Sky Cup.

Paunovic's Chivas' third rehearsal in the run-up to the Clausura 2023 was very useful, as it allowed the Serbian coach to observe most of his squad and for several periods of the match the team showed flashes of good soccer. In the end, a play in stoppage time was the difference for El Rebaño Sagrado to beat Mazatlán FC by the minimum difference this Friday night at the Jalisco Stadium, in its first match of the Sky Cup.

El Guadalajara will be back in action next Monday 19, when they face Santos at the same venue.

The winning goal:
- Chivas was the team that proposed the match, looking to win it at all times and found the reward in stoppage time, when Isaac Brizuela took a left-footed shot from the front that canterano Luis Puente deflected inside the box and the ball ended up in the back of the net.

Dangerous opportunities:
- At 4', Alan Mozo reached the back line and then sent a delayed shot in search of Pavel Pérez, who took a first-time shot, crashing his shot into a defender.

- At 17', 'Chicote' Calderón put in a cross that the defense rejected, but the ball was left at the feet of 'Nene' Beltrán, who beat his marker with a little hat trick and then fired a left-footed shot, just over the goal.

- At 28', the Mazatleco goalkeeper made a mistake when he gave the ball to Mozo, who sent a first-time service to the far post for 'Charal' Cisneros to finish, but his header went just wide.

- At 37', the 'Charal' dribbled inside the area to shake off the mark, then put in a powerful kick that Néstor Vidrio denied just before the 'Chelo' pushed the ball into the net.

- At 42', the Cañoneros shook off the red and white dominance with a shot by Sansores that went wide.

- At 46', 'Tala' Rangel leaned back to make a one-handed save on a shot.

- At 56', 'Chelo' realized that Vikonis was outside of the box and tried his luck from long distance, but the goalkeeper flew to save with his fingernails.

- A minute later, Barcenas took a low cross shot from the front, but 'Tiba' Sepúlveda managed to deflect it to a corner.

- At 63', 'Cone' Brizuela put a pass inside the area, Luis Puente made a screen to deceive the defenders and the ball reached Zahid Muñoz, who scored with a 'taquito' shot, but into the goalkeeper's hands.

- At 74', 'Lalo' Torres sent a long shot from his own half to Puente's foot, who brought it down as if by hand, but when he was heading towards the goal unmarked, the ball was flagged out of bounds.

- At 77', Mozo put in a cross into the heart of the area that 'Lalo' headed, but it went inches wide.
