23/05/2023 18:46 / Javier Quezada

In the hearts of the ChivaHermanos it feels like it was yesterday, but it has been 6 years since that magical week in which Guadalajara against all odds, surprised one and all with 2 remarkable performances full of soccer and grit, defeated Tigres in the Grand Final of the 2017 Clausura and won the twelfth title in the club's history.

In the first episode of the series, played in San Nicolás de los Garza, El Rebaño managed to impose the pace of the actions for a good part of the match, even taking a 2 goal lead thanks to Alan Pulido and Rodolfo Pizarro in the first half, but the felines refused to die at home and rescued a 2-2 draw thanks to a brace by André-Pierre Gignac at the end of the match.

Chivas, aware of the importance and transcendence of satisfying their fans, came out determined to win the second leg and with maximum concentration, vertical soccer, a lot of bravery and goals from Alan Pulido and 'Gallito' Vázquez, El Rebaño Sagrado arrived on time for their date with destiny to beat Tigres 2-1 (aggregate 4-3) and, thus, thrill the almost 50 thousand ChivaHermanos who packed Akron Stadium as well as the 40 million red-and-white fans around the world.
