Chivas' victory in the Clásico Tapatío continues to be the talk of the town, not only because of Gabriel Milito's tactical masterclass against Diego Cocca, but also because of the personality shown by El Rebaño in subduing their city rivals and because the result catapulted the team into the playoff zone, as well as allowing the Argentine coach to make history with Guadalajara.
Milito joined a select group of Rojiblancos coaches who have won both derbies in their debut tournament, as on matchday 8 he won the Clásico de México 1-2 and this Saturday he crushed Atlas 4-1 on matchday 15.
This milestone had only been achieved in short tournaments by three coaches. Hans Westerhof did it in 2003, John Van't Schip replicated it in 2012, and most recently, Matías Almeyda did it in 2015.
Gabriel Milito's Rebaño has worked with determination to achieve sustained football development, in clear ascent towards the end of the regular tournament, which gives hope that they will reach their best form at the most important moment of the calendar. In addition, he has encouraged practically the entire squad to reach their best individual form and, in this way, the Rojiblanca Nation fully identifies with their Chivas.
