Guadalajara's Under-15 team continued its great tournament run with a 4-2 victory over Toluca in the first leg of the AP25 semifinals, a match that took place at Gigantera. The Rojiblancos showed character and gained a key advantage at home ahead of the second leg.
The match was painted Rojiblanco from the start, as Santiago Becerra scored an early goal to give the Guadalajara team control of the game. Later, in the 38th minute, the lead was extended with an own goal by the visitors, allowing the Rebaño to go into halftime with a two-goal difference.
At the start of the second half, the visitors scored to close the gap, but Guadalajara's response was immediate: in the 54th minute, Becerra scored his second goal of the morning to make it 3-1. The Diablos closed the gap again in the 66th minute, but just two minutes later, René Godínez appeared to score the final 4-2 and seal the victory for Guadalajara.
Guadalajara will have to finish the job in the second leg to secure their ticket to the Grand Final, as any win, draw, or even a one-goal defeat will put them in the title series. The second leg will be played in Toluca on November 23, at 9:00 AM, on Field 2 in Metepec.
