Guadalajara continue their preseason preparations ahead of the Clausura 2026, and on Saturday night they played their second warm-up match at Estadio Jalisco, where they faced Atlas as part of the Copa Pacífica Centenario.
Although the match ended in a 0-0 draw, there were several positive takeaways for the Red-and-White side, who saw 18 first-team players get minutes. In addition, one of the highlights was the return of Armando González, who had suffered an injury toward the end of last tournament and played half an hour against the Rojinegros.
The first half was largely dominated by Guadalajara, who, as usual, controlled possession and set the tempo. In fact, the Rebaño Sagrado left good impressions going forward, as despite the opponent sitting deep and defending close to their goal, Chivas managed to create dangerous chances that, unfortunately, could not be converted.
In the second half, although the opponent pushed forward a bit more and tested a consistently reliable ‘Tala’ Rangel, they were unable to overshadow the attacking performance of the team led by Gabriel Milito, who once again settled into the match, even though the ball continued to refuse to go in.
Despite multiple attacking efforts from the Chiverío, the match finished in a 0-0 draw, forcing the friendly to be decided by a penalty shootout, where Atlas claimed the victory by a 5-4 scoreline.
