It was an emotional weekend for the Red-and-White Academy, as all of the teams took the field to proudly represent Club Deportivo Guadalajara. Teamwork and intensity were evident in every match, and below we present the results from the latest round of games.
Chivas U-21
With a goal from Diego Latorre in the 78th minute, the Rebaño secured a draw against Santos on Saturday morning in a match filled with intensity throughout the 90 minutes. The Red-and-Whites never gave up as they fought back from a deficit on the scoreboard. After the tie in regular time, the extra point from the penalty shootout went to Chivas, who prevailed 8-7 from the spot. The Rebaño currently sits ninth in the standings with 17 points.
Chivas U-19
Despite giving their all to secure the win after taking the lead in the 68th minute through Kevin Ocejo, a couple of late defensive lapses cost Chivas the match, as they fell 1-2 at La Gigantera. With the result, the team dropped to tenth place with 16 points, though they still have a game in hand against Toluca.
Chivas Women’s U-19
The Red-and-White side drew 1-1 against Atlético San Luis in regular time, with a goal from Yesenia Guzmán. Unfortunately, they fell short in the penalty shootout, losing 5-4. The team coached by Cecilia Cabrera currently sits sixth in Group 2 with 12 points, although they still have a pending match against Mazatlán FC.
Chivas U-17
Guadalajara took the field on Sunday morning with the mission of maintaining first place in Group 2—and they did just that, reaching 20 points after a 2-2 draw against Atlético San Luis, with goals from Jorge Lewis and Enoc Osorio. In addition, the Red-and-Whites secured the extra point by winning the penalty shootout 7-6.
Chivas U-15
The youngest team in the Red-and-White Academy fought tirelessly to claim the victory but was unable to capitalize on the scoring opportunities they created and ended up drawing 0-0 against Atlético San Luis. However, they managed to add a point after winning the penalty shootout 5-4. With the result, the team moved into third place in Group 2 with 15 points.
