During the March FIFA international break, several players from Cantera Rojiblanca were in action with the different TRI youth national teams, earning minutes in preparation matches that allowed them to continue showcasing their development.
Below, we present the performances of our Rojiblancos in their respective commitments with the National Team.
Sub 20
The Mexico U-20 National Team played two friendly matches against Costa Rica, both with positive results. The first took place on March 27, ending in a narrow 1-0 victory, a scoreline that was repeated in the second match, securing back-to-back wins.
Regarding Rojiblanca participation, there was consistent presence with rotation between starting roles and appearances off the bench. Cristo Navarrete and Sebastián Liceaga alternated between the posts, each starting one match, while Yohan Orozco wore the captain’s armband.
In addition, the attacking partnership between Santiago Sandoval and Hugo Camberos stood out, providing depth and projection in the final third, along with the involvement of Samir Inda.
Meanwhile, Cruz Medina also saw action with the United States U-20 National Team. On March 26, in Ezeiza, the U.S. side defeated Argentina 3-0, a match in which the Rojiblanco started and contributed dynamism and attacking variation. The U.S. team will play another preparation match in Argentina, facing Independiente de Avellaneda U-20 at Villa Domínico.
Sub 23
For their part, the Mexico U-23 National Team also played two preparation matches. The first was on March 26 against Pumas’ first team, ending in a 4-1 loss for the national side.
Later, on Monday, March 30, the team faced Toluca U-21 at the CAR facilities, where they secured a convincing 4-0 victory. In this match, Rojiblanco Juan Pablo Uribe was a standout performer, scoring a brace with goals in the 28th and 44th minutes.
Likewise, Diego Latorre and Ángel Chávez also saw minutes in these matches. Latorre contributed offensively with combinations and chance creation, while Chávez added solidity in central defense, playing a key role in the team’s defensive phase.
Cantera Rojiblanca is the foundation of the Guadalajara sporting project, where players are developed to compete at the highest level. The presence of our players in the TRI reflects the consistent work in youth development and the commitment of Rebaño to nurturing young talent that continues to grow day by day.
