A SPECTACULAR GOAL THAT REMINDS US OF A Rojiblanca LEGEND

Talking about Ramón Morales is recalling talent, leadership, and a privileged left foot that marked an era at Guadalajara. An undisputed idol of the Nación Rojiblanca, the “Eternal Captain” built his legacy with character and unforgettable moments… and it all started with a goal still remembered as a true work of art.

A day like today in 1999, “Ramoncito” scored his first goal with the Rebaño Sagrado… and he did it with a spectacular strike that foreshadowed everything that was to come in his career.

Ramón Morales’ First Goal with Chivas: An Unforgettable Masterpiece

It was Jornada 12 of the Verano 1999 tournament, when Guadalajara visited Puebla at Estadio Cuauhtémoc. Just two minutes in, a free kick from three-quarters of the field, slightly to the left, opened the door for the Rebaño to make an impact.

The play began with the intelligence of Alberto Coyote, who delivered a lofted pass to Morales at the edge of the box. The Michoacán native read the action perfectly, gained his position, let the ball bounce, and unleashed a left-footed cross shot that found the top corner, impossible for the Puebla goalkeeper.

A goal that not only opened the score but also became the first of many brilliant moments in “Ramoncito’s” career wearing the Rojiblanca jersey.

The Beginning of an Unforgettable Story

In that match, wearing the number 30 shirt, Ramón Morales wrote the first chapter of his story, which would lead him to become a club icon. For a decade, he defended Guadalajara’s colors, leaving an indelible mark both on and off the pitch. His educated left foot, leadership, and identity with the club made him one of the most beloved players among Chivahermanos, cementing his status as a symbol of the Rebaño Sagrado.
