The first half of the year was highly positive for Club Deportivo Guadalajara, as Clausura 2026 delivered moments that pushed the emotions of the Rojiblanca Nation to the limit across all of its teams. Throughout these months, we witnessed our Rojiblancos achieve remarkable feats, and now it’s time to look back at the very best.
A Perfect Start
CL26 could not have begun in better fashion for Guadalajara. The team collected all 18 points available in its first six matches, driven by Gabriel Milito’s unmistakable style of play. To top it all off, Chivas also claimed victory in El Clásico de México. Eleven goals scored, four conceded, and three clean sheets rounded out a dream start, with Pachuca, Juárez, Querétaro, San Luis, Mazatlán, and América all falling along the way.
The Quarterfinal “Miracle”
To crown the club’s 120th anniversary celebrations, the Rebaño and the Chiva Nation became one on the unforgettable night of May 9, 2026. Needing to win by two goals in the second leg to advance to the Semifinals, a packed Estadio AKRON fueled Guadalajara to a historic comeback. A brace from Santiago Sandoval secured the team’s place in the next round. As an added layer of significance, it was the final Chivas match at the House of Mexico before the venue officially became a host stadium for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Chivas’ Fortress
Playing at AKRON became an impossible mission for opponents, and the numbers prove it. Gabriel Milito’s side went 14 consecutive home matches without defeat, posting an impressive record of 11 wins, three draws, and nine clean sheets.
Comebacks in the Clásicos
The first one was so special that Chivas Femenil did it twice. Against both of their fiercest rivals, Antonio Contreras’ team showcased its firepower and resilience, coming back from 0-2 deficits in each match. The Rojiblancas turned one into a 4-2 victory over Atlas and the other into a thrilling 3-2 win against América, creating unforgettable nights at the Fortaleza Rojiblanca.
Licha’s 161st Goal
The moment every Chivahermano had been waiting for arrived on April 30. Against Pachuca in the first leg of the Quarterfinals, Alicia Cervantes further cemented her legacy by becoming Club Guadalajara’s all-time leading scorer with her 161st goal for the Rojiblancas. Surrounded by the Chiva Nation at Estadio Jalisco, “Licha” received a tribute worthy of such a historic accomplishment during an emotional post-match ceremony.
Vladimir Moragrega: Golden Boot Winner
One of Tapatío’s brightest stories of the season was undoubtedly the club’s first-ever Golden Boot winner. Thanks to the 10 goals he scored for the young Rebaño, Vladimir Moragrega etched his name into the history books as the league’s top scorer. Atlético La Paz, Venados, Atlante, Tlaxcala, Alebrijes, Atlético Morelia, Mineros, and Dorados all fell victim to his finishing throughout CL26.
Sub-21 Champions in El Clásico de México
The Rojiblanca Academy also delivered unforgettable moments, none bigger than Chivas Sub-21 winning the title against its fiercest rival. The championship was contested by the two best teams in the tournament, but Guadalajara imposed its quality, courage, and attractive football from start to finish. The 4-1 aggregate triumph was largely shaped in the first leg at Estadio AKRON, where Luis Arce’s side delivered a masterclass performance. The return leg in Coapa merely confirmed, once again, which academy is the best in Mexico.
Sub-17 and the Copa Imposible
After an outstanding CL26 campaign in which the team finished as overall leader, topped Group 2, and reached the Liga MX Semifinals, Chivas Sub-17 proudly represented both Mexico and the Rojiblanca Academy by winning the Bronze Cup at the 2026 Impossible Cup in Medellín, Colombia. The squad gained valuable international experience by facing clubs such as Atlético Nacional, Independiente Medellín, Argentinos Juniors, Independiente Santa Fe, and others.
