Club Deportivo Guadalajara announces that it has reached an agreement with Olympiacos FC for the permanent transfer of Armando González, who, after completing his development and establishing himself at Chivas, will continue his career in European soccer.
‘Hormiga’ joined the Guadalajara youth academy in 2018 at just 15 years old and progressed through every level of the club’s youth system before reaching the First Team. He made his Liga MX debut in January 2024.
During the Apertura 2025, González became the league's top scorer with 12 goals, and he maintained his scoring form in the Clausura 2026, adding another 12 goals. That same semester, he was named Liga MX Player of the Tournament.
His performances earned him a call-up to the Mexico Senior National Team, where he made his debut in November 2025 before subsequently being selected for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Chivas recognizes Armando's importance as an exemplary academy product who embodies the club's values and identity, while also recognizing the significance of his move to European soccer.
