Raúl Rangel has reached a very special milestone in his history with Guadalajara. This Saturday, during the 1-1 draw on Clásico Tapatío in Matchweek 11 of the Apertura 2026, ‘Tala’ made his 100th Liga MX appearance with the Rojiblanco First Team, an achievement that highlights his development between the posts and the journey he has taken from the youth ranks to becoming a key figure for the team.
A product of the Rebaño Sagrado’s academy, the 26-year-old goalkeeper has built a career that reflects the hard work, consistency, and preparation that distinguish players developed at Verde Valle. He made his top-flight debut on October 1, 2023, when he guarded the Rojiblanco goal against Toluca at Estadio Nemesio Diez. Since then, he has made 93 appearances in the regular season and seven more in the Liguilla, for a total of 8,926 minutes played.
One of the statistics that best reflects his contribution is his ability to keep clean sheets. In his first 100 Liga MX appearances with Chivas, Rangel recorded 34 clean sheets, demonstrating his contribution to the team’s defensive efforts and the importance he has gained as Guadalajara’s last line of defense.
Throughout this journey, ‘Tala’ has demonstrated consistency across different tournaments. In the Clausura 2024, he recorded eight clean sheets, five in the regular season and three in the Liguilla, while in the Apertura 2024, he also kept eight clean sheets during the regular season. He subsequently added three in the Clausura 2025, four in the Apertura 2025 (one of them in the final phase), six in the Clausura 2026, and four more in the current Apertura 2026.
His development has also extended beyond the club. In 2026, Rangel was part of the Selección Mexicana squad that competed in the World Cup, where he established himself as the undisputed starting goalkeeper. This recognition puts into perspective the journey made by the Rojiblanco keeper and the level he has reached at just 26 years of age.
Reaching 100 Liga MX appearances with Guadalajara reflects the quality, confidence, and commitment Raúl Rangel has demonstrated between the posts. Defending Chivas’ goal is an enormous responsibility, and doing so at a level that has earned him the starting role with the Selección Mexicana highlights just how much he has grown. Being the guardian of the two most Mexican teams is a source of pride he has earned through hard work and outstanding performances.
This century of appearances celebrates the career of an academy graduate who has taken his Rojiblanco development to the highest level of Mexican soccer. At 26, ‘Tala’ has already represented Mexico at a World Cup and continues to build his legacy with Chivas, proudly representing two crests that connect with millions of fans.
