20/10/2026 20:17 / Sara Ochoa

As if it were a good-luck charm, the Rebaño Sagrado debuted a new kit and, with the pride and attacking intent that define the team, made home-field advantage count and returned to winning ways after a run of three consecutive draws, earning an important 1-0 victory over Necaxa at Estadio AKRON tonight in their Apertura 2026 Matchday 13 clash. Guadalajara battled for the full 90 minutes until their persistence paid off, securing three crucial points in the race for the top spots in the standings.

The team coached by Gabriel Milito looked to take control from the opening whistle, relying on intensity, pressing, and attacking moves to create danger in the opposition’s box. From the opening minutes, the Rebaño Sagrado made its intentions clear, with Roberto Alvarado playing a leading role in the action. Chivas kept pushing and finally got its reward in the 76th minute, when a cross from Piojo Alvarado resulted in an own goal by Agustín Oliveros, sparking celebrations at Estadio AKRON. The goal put the Rebaño Sagrado in front, and the team defended its lead until the final whistle.

With this result, Chivas moves to 23 points and provisionally climbs to second place in the standings. The Rojiblancos will now turn their attention to their next Apertura 2026 fixture, when they travel to Monterrey to face Rayados on Saturday, October 24, at Estadio BBVA on Matchday 14.

The Goals

  • Piojo’s night! In the 76th minute, a cross from Roberto Alvarado resulted in an own goal by Agustín Oliveros. • So close, Richy! In the 11th minute, a clearance from Tala Rangel was flicked on by Ricardo Marín and fell to Richy Ledezma, who reached the ball after a rebound and tried to take advantage of the opportunity to open the scoring, but couldn’t make the necessary connection.
  • In the 23rd minute, a pass from Ricardo Marín found Roberto Alvarado, who fired a shot on target that forced Orantes into action. The Necaxa goalkeeper reacted quickly to turn the ball behind for a corner, denying the Rojiblancos a goal.
  • Let’s go, Leonel! In the 38th minute, Leonel Calderón tried his luck from outside the box with a shot intended to catch the Necaxa defense off guard, but the ball sailed over the crossbar for a goal kick.
  • In the 47th minute, a pass from Rubén González found Richy Ledezma, who wasted no time in unleashing a powerful shot. However, the opposing goalkeeper reacted in time to make the save and keep the score level.

  • What a save, Tala! In the 64th minute, Necaxa came very close to opening the scoring, but Raúl Rangel turned hero with a spectacular double save to keep his goal intact. The Rojiblanco goalkeeper reacted twice to preserve the clean sheet and keep Guadalajara in the game.
  • Castañeda! In the 65th minute, Kevin Castañeda unleashed a shot that sailed just over the Rojiblanco goal. The Necaxa attack set off alarm bells, but the ball went wide and Chivas remained in the match.
