The Cantera Rojiblanca returned to action in the Apertura 2026 with a visit to Monterrey in matches corresponding to Matchday 14 of the tournament.
Both the U-21 and U-19 teams looked to take control on the road and earn valuable points in the closing stretch of the Regular Season. However, both matches ended in defeats for the Rojiblancos.
Here’s a recap of how Guadalajara’s youth sides fared in Monterrey:
U-21
Guadalajara U-21 were unable to come away with points from their visit to El Barrial, falling 4-1 to Monterrey in their Matchday 14 clash of the Apertura 2026.
Omar Gálvez gave the hosts an early lead with a brace in the opening minutes, scoring in the 1st and 8th minutes. The Rebaño Sagrado looked to respond and pulled one back in the 45th minute through leading scorer Anwar Ben Rhouma, keeping the visitors in contention heading into halftime. However, in the second half, Aldo de Nigris extended Monterrey’s lead in the 69th minute, and José Urías sealed the 4-1 victory in the 90th minute.
With this result, Guadalajara remain in fifth place in the standings with 20 points. They will look to get back on track in their next tournament match, when they host Atlante on Saturday, October 31, in Matchday 15 of the Apertura 2026.
