31/10/2026 21:44 / Sara Ochoa

Chivas and the Chivahermanos made sure home-field advantage counted at Estadio AKRON! With an outstanding performance from start to finish, Guadalajara rolled past Atlante 4-2 on Saturday night in Matchday 15 of Apertura 2026. The win marked the team's third straight victory and brought its tally to 29 points, keeping El Rebaño Sagrado firmly in the race for first place in the standings.

Santiago Sandoval led the charge with a brace, while Efraín Álvarez delivered another impressive performance and chipped in with a goal of his own. Daniel Aguirre also got on the scoresheet as Gabriel Milito's men overwhelmed the visitors with their trademark high-energy style and clinical finishing, sending La Fortaleza Rojiblanca into a frenzy.

Next up for Guadalajara is a trip to face León on Sunday, November 8, at Estadio Nou Camp. Chivas will look to keep their unbeaten away record intact and pick up three more points to mathematically secure a spot in the Liguilla, while continuing their push to take sole possession of first place.

The goals
- Sandoval gets the party started! Just 8 minutes in, Santiago Sandoval brought La Casa de los Mexicanos to its feet! The play began with a clearance from Luis Romo, and after the ball bounced inside the box, the young Chivas attacker caught Atlante's defense off guard, won possession and unleashed a powerful cross-goal strike that found the back of the net.

- What a team goal from Chivas! In the 34th minute, the Rebaño Sagrado showed off some brilliant combination play. - In the 81st minute, Jhojan Julio converted from the penalty spot after a VAR review resulted in a penalty being awarded.
