What are Chivas' chances of beating Pumas?

24/08/2022 17:00 / Fernando Giaccardi

Chivas wants to make their two wins in a row count and confirm that their rebound in the Apertura 2022 is serious and in order to do so they will have to get a W versus Pumas this Saturday night at the Akron Stadium, Matchday 11.

And what are the odds of that happening? Well, the recent numbers between the Rebaño Sagrado and UNAM favor the red-and-whites, who have won 3 consecutive matches against the felines in Guadalajara.

Curiously, in the last 3 meetings in Jalisco, El Chiverío have scored 9 goals, compared to 3 for the auriazules. In other words, every time the universitarios set foot in the Akron it is synonymous with Guadalajara rocking the net.

This does not sound far-fetched, especially after Ricardo Cadena's squad found the net again in AP22, scoring 4 goals against Necaxa and then only 1 to beat Rayados.

In addition, Chivas has a total of 6 matches unbeaten against Pumas on any field, with 3 wins and 3 draws. In 5 of those matches, there have been at least 2 goals, which also means that, in theory, the show is a guarantee every time they meet.

The Rebaño's streak at the Akron against UNAM:

Tournament / Matchday / Result
CL22 / Rep / Chivas 4-1 Pumas
CL22 / 16 / Chivas 3-1 Pumas
G21 / 8 / Chivas 2-1 Pumas
