18/02/2023 15:00 / Fernando Giaccardi

Mexico City.- The match between the first and third place teams in the U-20 circuit lived up to expectations and, above all, Chivas gave a convincing demonstration of why they are the undefeated leaders of the Clausura 2023, as Pumas demanded the best of El Rebaño in terms of game play, mentality and determination, as they got up from a 2-0 deficit to win 2-3 this Saturday in Matchday 8. With this Los Tapatíos reached 20 points and will visit Tigres next week.

The goals:

20' Gael Rodríguez blocked a pass near the box and then crossed the ball to send it in.

26' César Huerta was left alone in the center to face the goalkeeper and with a right-footed shot made it 2-0.

38' 'La Hormiga' González took a throw-in on the left and left Daniel Villaseca alone inside the box, who shot past González to make it 2-1.

47' The equalizer came after a great individual action by Enrique Ledesma on the right, who opened the space to find González in the center, who just pushed the ball into the back of the net.

60' The Red and Whites' comeback came thanks to a superb penalty kick taken by Gael García, who capitalized with great power and close to the right post.

The highlights:

7' Erick Montiel saved a Luis Caicedo penalty kick with a great move on his left side.

32' Juan Zavala set up Armando González inside the box, who eluded the goalkeeper and shot almost without an angle, but Caicedo cleared the ball off the goal line.

55' Gael Rodríguez entered the box alone on the left and shot powerfully but wide.

88' Erick Montiel was the hero as he made a one-handed save on Oliver Perez's shot from inside the box on the left.
