Chivas' first global mission for the Clausura 2023 has been acommplished. The red & white teams in the 4 main Liga MX circuits are in the play-offs and will now seek to consolidate their position as serious contenders for the championship.

After beating Mazatlán in Matchday 17, Guadalajara had a great campaign under Veljko Paunovic, equaling their best record in the history of short tournaments with 34 points, 10 wins and 28 goals scored in the regular season, which allowed them to stamp their passport straight to the Quarterfinals as third place, while waiting to find out who will be their opponent after the Wild Card stage.

El Tapatío didn’t lag behind and registered its best regular season in the history of the Expansion League, as it finished second overall with 31 points, 9 victories and was the best offense with 30 goals, which also made it clinch a direct spot in the Quarterfinals; in this round it will face Coyotes, first in Tlaxcala this Wednesday at 9:05 PM (CST) and then on Saturday at 5 PM (CST) at the Jalisco Stadium.

For its part, Chivas U20 finished as leader of the CL23 with 35 points, a fact that confirmed its great season, in which it played a main role all the way. In the Quarterfinals, they will face Santos Laguna, first in La Comarca on Wednesday and then at home on Saturday at Verde Valle.

Meanwhile, although El Rebaño Sagrado U18 struggled during the tournament to find stability in their play and to get good results, they stepped on the gas in the last third of the campaign and that allowed them to be part of the fight for the cup as 8th place with 33 points. In the first round of La Liguilla they will face Tigres this Thursday in Verde Valle and then on Sunday in Zuazua.
