Everything you should know ahead of the Chivas vs Tigres Grand Final

25/05/2023 10:03 / Javier Quezada

La 13 is getting closer and closer! This Thursday at 8 p.m., Chivas will be taking the field at the Universitario Stadium with only one thing in mind: beat Tigres and return to Guadalajara with the advantage on aggregate and be able to round off the series next Sunday at 7:35 p.m. at Akron Stadium to celebrate with the Rojiblanca Nation the conquest of yet another Liga MX title.

On their way to the Final, El Rebaño defeated their two biggest rivals, as they eliminated Atlas in the Quarterfinals and the Águilas in the Semifinals, while the Felinos overcame Toluca in the first instance and Monterrey in the second.

Unfortunately, Veljko Paunovic will not be able to count on having Carlos Cisneros, who suffered a cruciate ligament rupture in the last match against América, although as there is no difference between operating as soon as possible or in a few days' time, the 'Charal' will remain concentrated with the squad during the Final. On the other hand, Robert Dante Siboldi has no injured or suspended players, so he will be able to count on having his entire team.

Did you know that...?
- Guadalajara is undefeated against Tigres in the Liga MX Final Phase, with 4 wins and 2 ties.
- El Rebaño and the Felinos have met 3 times in the Liguilla and the red and white team has always advanced.
- Chivas have scored at least 2 goals in 5 of the last 6 matches against the Monterrey-based team.
- The biggest win in this rivalry belongs to el Chiverío, who won 4-0 in J4 of Invierno 99 and repeated the score in J6 of the Apertura 2002.
- Alexis Vega is the player with the second most shots on goal so far in the Liguilla, with 9.
- Alan Mozo has been a guarantee on the right flank; so far in the Final Phase, he is the player with the most crosses from the right with 17 and the one who has won the most defensive 1vs1s with 15.
- Antonio Briseño has rejected 49 balls in the last 4 games; by far the best in the League.

Who will referee the first leg?
- Center: Fernando Guerrero Ramírez
- Assistant 1: Pablo Israel Hernández Luna
- Assistant 2: Leonardo Javier Castillo Rodríguez
- Fourth official: Daniel Quintero Huitrón
- VAR: Jorge Antonio Pérez Durán and Guillermo Pacheco Larios.
