15 Chivas players called up to the Mexican National Team!

15/01/2026 16:35 / Club Deportivo Guadalajara

Chivas’ outstanding moment is explained by a clear playing identity, determination, and total commitment to our sporting project. The individual and collective work has now earned major recognition, as 15 Rojiblanco players have been called up to the Mexican National Team—an impressive figure that reflects the competitive level the club is currently enjoying.

On one hand, eight players were selected for the Senior National Team for the friendly matches against Panama and Bolivia, to be played on January 22 and 25 respectively, as part of the preparation for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Raúl Rangel, Brian Gutiérrez, Bryan González, Richard Ledezma, Roberto Alvarado, Ángel Sepúlveda, Luis Romo, and Armando González were considered by head coach Javier Aguirre for this training camp.

Eight names that represent not only individual talent, but also the consolidation of a collective project that enhances performance and raises the competitive ceiling of every player.

At the core of this growth is the influence of Gabriel Milito. His playing model—built on intensity, courage to compete, and a rich array of attacking resources—has allowed each footballer to find their best version. It is a style that demands, but also supports; that corrects, but trusts. Today, that trust is reflected in a massive call-up to El Tri.

This list also carries special emotional significance: Richard Ledezma and Brian Gutiérrez will experience their first official call-up to the senior national team, a milestone in their careers that confirms how consistent work and belief in the process open doors—right at one of the final call-ups on the road to the 2026 World Cup.

In addition, seven Chivas youngsters were also selected to take part in the Mexican U-20 National Team camp scheduled from January 18 to 22, reaffirming the Rojiblanca Academy as the best in the country. The list includes Sebastián Liceaga, Cristo Navarrete, Carlos Hernández, Yohan Orozco, Samir Inda, Santiago Sandoval, and Hugo Camberos.

This achievement does more than just elevate the numbers—it turns them into a powerful message. Chivas not only competes; it develops, projects, and propels national talent. A clear sign that the sporting project is moving forward with confidence and that Guadalajara is going through a crucial phase for the future of Mexican football.
