Great news, Chivahermanos! Guadalajara’s outstanding 2025-26 campaign continues to earn well-deserved recognition. Liga MX announced the nominees for the 2026 Ballon d’Or on Friday, honoring the best performers in Mexican soccer at every position, and Chivas proudly features several representatives among the finalists.
The Rojiblancos nominated are:
- Bryan González – Best Fullback
- Armando González – Best Forward
- Kevin Castañeda – Best Attacking Midfielder
- Santiago Sandoval – Rookie of the Year
- Brian Gutiérrez – Rookie of the Year
In addition, Argentine manager Gabriel Milito was nominated for Coach of the Year.
Beyond the individual recognition, these nominations come with another distinction, as every Ballon d’Or nominee automatically earns a spot among the first players selected for the Liga MX All-Star Game, where the league’s top stars will take on the best players from MLS.
The match will be played on July 29 at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina, bringing together many of the biggest stars from both leagues.
Congratulations to our Rojiblancos on this well-deserved recognition!
