The Cantera Rojiblanca continued its Apertura 2026 campaign as all of Guadalajara’s youth teams were in action this weekend for Matchday 3 of the tournament. We know Chivahermanos are always eager to follow the development of our young talents, so here’s a recap of every result and the standout moments from the Rojiblancas and Rojiblancos this weekend.
How Did the Rojiblanca Academy Perform on Matchday 3 of the AP26?
Women’s U-19
The Rojiblancas earned a 2-0 road victory over Xolos Femenil in a match they controlled from start to finish. Guadalajara’s dominance was reflected on the scoreboard in the first half, when Yessenia Guzmán opened the scoring in the 35th minute. Natalia Pérez sealed the win in the 73rd minute, helping the team maintain its perfect start to the Apertura 2026.
Men’s U-15
The U-15 side also traveled to Tijuana and claimed an important 2-1 victory. Despite conceding an own goal early in the match, the Rojiblancos showed character and resilience to complete the comeback. Santiago López leveled the match in the 67th minute, and just when it seemed the points would be shared, Diego Hermosillo found the winner in the 90th minute.
Men’s U-17
The U-17 squad played to a 2-2 draw against Xolos at Estadio Caliente, showing great determination to fight back. The home side took the lead with goals in the 24th and 70th minutes, but the Rebaño never gave up. David Mejía pulled one back in the 75th minute, and deep into stoppage time, Dilan Padilla scored the equalizer. Xolos went on to claim the extra point in the penalty shootout.
Men’s U-21
The U-21 team played to a scoreless draw against Puebla on the road in its Matchday 3 fixture of the Apertura 2026. Guadalajara looked to create danger through combination play and long passes behind the defense, but Puebla’s back line held firm to keep the match scoreless. The home side secured the extra point in the penalty shootout.
Men’s U-19
The U-19 team also faced Puebla away from home and, despite a strong collective effort and several dangerous chances, fell by the narrowest of margins. The match’s only goal came in the 56th minute, and although Guadalajara pushed for an equalizer until the final whistle, it was unable to find the back of the net.
